The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has asked the city to provide information about how many hikers, bikers, and dogs will be using Spring Lake Preserve. Melani Howard, San Marcos’ watershed protection manager, would like to gather observational data on the users of Upper and Lower Purgatory Creek, including Prospect Park, to help with the Spring Lake Preserve estimate.
