SMGA on Radio!
Every fourth Tuesday of the month, beginning on March 28, SMGA will host “Wonderful World,” a new environment-focused program on our local radio station, KZFM. The 30-minute show, which airs at 11:30 a.m., will feature SMGA members talking about our organization, the natural areas, and other environmental issues in our community. The San Marcos River Foundation will host a similar program on the second Tuesday of the month.
The program was conceived when KZFM picked up “Mothering Earth,” a half-hour podcast produced by Salwa Khan of Wimberley focusing on a broad range of environmental and sustainable living topics. With Khan’s pre-recorded show running from 11:00-11:30, KZSM wanted to fill the second half-hour slot with complementary programming specifically about San Marcos. That was when the station reached out to SMGA and SMRF.
A recent edition of “Mothering Earth” featured SMGA board member Aspen Navarro and Lisa Arceneaux talking about the green alley initiative in San Marcos. You can listen to their podcast here.
