Building and maintaining trails is hard, sometimes dangerous work, especially for someone who doesn’t know a McCleod from a hatchet from a grubbing hoe.

To ensure that volunteers use these tools not just safely but effectively, SMGA will be creating a series of trail-building videos.

What is the purpose of each of the tools at the volunteer’s disposal? What’s the best way to wield them? To carry them?
