Lone Star Prize Application Update

In the most recent newsletter from the San Marcos River Foundation (SMRF), Director Virginia Condie reported on the status of SMRF’s application for the Lone Star Prize grant from the Lyda Hill Foundation. She reported that the grant “would provide enough funding to purchase two additional Conservation Recharge Properties key in the greenspace loop around the city. The recharge zone is critical to the protection of the Edwards Aquifer as a water source for future generations, especially with the added pressure of increased growth and development and future droughts in Central Texas.”
