Charlie O’Neil guides grandson Jacob Moths in pulling ligustrum at Lower Purgatory while dad, Karsten Moths, watches. Charlie’s family is visiting from Germany.
At the June Bird Walk at the San Marcos City Cemetery, a neighbor, Jesse Gainer, walked by and asked about the event. He explained that he had written a grant to equip children with binoculars, and asked if SMGA wanted the ones that were not used.
Monique gladly accepted 10 brand news pairs of binoculars and 4 bird books on SMGA’s behalf. The plan is to have these available during future bird walks to anyone who might need them.
